    I've got Exchange server dedicated to my resource mailboxes using ERM.  I'm getting reports from my Active Directory team that this particular ERM server is making a great deal of deep scope searches against some of the global catalog servers.  Any idea on what might be going on?  I believe the query is to configuration container, on the objectClass msExchangeServer.

    ERM does Global Catalog queries in several places.  For example: Resolve user/mailbox during manage/un-manage, Exchange server searches, Resolve DLs when DL restriction feature is used.  It is possible to configure ERM to force it to address only a specific server for Global Catalog requests.
