By flagging a meeting request as “private” in Outlook, the details of the appointment – including the subject and attendees – are suppressed from anyone not on the attendees list or with appropriate delegated permissions to an attendees’ mailbox. When ERM processes a meeting request, private meetings retain their private status after processing. This is useful when scheduling a conference room for a meeting that others should not know about.
When sending a private meeting request to an ERM-managed resource, keep in mind that resources are optionally configured to send blind copies of meeting requests to other users. Enabling this functionality allows users that may not be invited on the original request to receive a copy of the meeting request without the knowledge of other attendees. Similarly, care should be taken when using ERM's notification functionality with private meetings.
Meetings are flagged as private by flagging the \"Private\" checkbox on the lower-right corner of the meeting request window in Outlook. Though meetings marked as private retain this setting when viewed through OWA, requests created in OWA cannot be marked as private.
