ERM Installation fails to create the Com+ Application

    1. Bring up the command prompt and navigate to C:\Program Files\Simpler-Webb\Exchange Resource Manager. Please create the directory if it does not exist.

    2. Type “regsvr32 ERME2KAsyncSink.dll” and press Enter

    3. Click “OK” in the pop-up window indicating successful registration

    4. Type “exit” and press Enter to close the command prompt

    5. Bring up the Component Services console by clicking Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->Component Services

    6. Expand Component Services->Computers->My Computer so that COM+ Applications is visible

    7. Highlight and Right-click “COM+ Applications” and select New->Application from the contextual menu

    8. Click “Next” on the “Welcome to COM Application Install Wizard” screen

    9. Click the button to “Create an empty application”

    10. Enter “Simpler-Webb Exchange Resource Manager” as the name for the new application.

    11. Verify that the Activation Type is set to “Server application” and click “Next”

    12. When prompted to Set Application Identity, select the “This user:” option, enter the logon information for the ERM Service Account, and click “Next”

    13. Click “Finish” to close the COM Application Install Wizard

    14. In the Component Services console, expand COM+ Applications->Simpler-Webb Exchange Resource Manager

    15. Under this, highlight and right-click “Components” and select New->Component

    16. Click “Next’ on the “Welcome to the COM Component Install Wizard”

    17. Click the button to “Import component(s) that are already registered

    18. In the resulting list, select “SimplerWebb.ERME2KAsyncSink.1” and click “Next”

    19. Click “Finish” to close the COM Component Install Wizard

    20. Close the Component Services console
